Many people living abroad have their teeth treated where they come from, or where they are travelling anyway. For that to work, it has to be clear in advance what will be done, how many appointments are needed and how many days to set aside. That is exactly what we settle before you book a ticket.
It starts before you travel
Send us a panoramic X-ray or photos of your teeth, and describe briefly what is bothering you. You will get a treatment proposal and the number of days you should be in Banja Luka for it. Only once that plan is settled and you have confirmed it do we reserve your appointments, so that you do not travel here only to find out on arrival what is possible. Please bear in mind that an assessment from images is an assessment: at the first appointment here we examine you properly, and if the plan has to change, we discuss it with you before we start.
How many days to allow
The time needed depends on the scope of the work, and the following are guidelines rather than commitments; you get the binding schedule with your treatment plan. A check-up, cleaning or whitening usually takes one appointment on one day. Fillings take one or two appointments depending on how many, often possible on consecutive days. Root canal treatment takes one or several appointments, depending on the number and condition of the canals. A crown or bridge takes several appointments with a few days in between, because the work is made in the laboratory and you wear a temporary between preparation and fitting. Dentures take several appointments spread over a longer period, because try-ins and adjustments are part of the process. If your time is limited, tell us beforehand.

The practice is in Banja Luka, at Braće Mažar i majke Marije 88. Banja Luka airport is about 25 km away, Zagreb airport about 185 km, Tuzla airport about 165 km and Sarajevo airport about 240 km. Many patients drive, or fly into Zagreb and cover the last stretch by hire car or bus, and you should check current entry and border requirements yourself before you travel. Guarantee and aftercare
For work such as crowns, bridges and dentures we agree a guarantee, with its scope and duration set according to the treatment and put in writing in your treatment plan before the work begins. If something is not right after you get home, message us and send a photo; in many cases it is possible to judge from a distance whether it is something urgent or whether it can wait until your next visit. If acute treatment is needed, you should see a dental practice locally, and on request we provide documentation of the work carried out so that the dentist there knows what was done.
Language and records
Consultations and treatment are possible in English or German. On request you receive documentation of the work carried out for your own records or for your dentist at home. Whether and to what extent your health insurer reimburses treatment abroad is something to clarify directly with your insurer before you travel, as that is not something we can assess for you.
